Key nutrients to increase male fertility
For men interested in increasing their fertility, it's important to consider certain nutrients to improve sperm quality and overall reproductive health. Here's a list of important nutrients:
- zinc: Important for sperm production and maintaining testosterone levels. Zinc deficiency can affect sperm quality and fertility.
- Vitamin D: Contributes to increasing testosterone levels and sperm motility. Adequate vitamin D intake is key to male fertility.
- Omega-3 fatty acids: Crucial for sperm shape and function. Omega-3 fatty acids improve reproductive health by supporting hormone production.
- Folic acid: Known for its positive effects on female fertility, also improves sperm health and count in men.
- Selenium: An antioxidant that promotes sperm motility and protects against damage.
- Vitamin C: Prevents sperm clumping and promotes sperm motility, which is important for fertility.
- Vitamin E: Together with vitamin C as an antioxidant, protects sperm and promotes their health and activity.
- Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10): Supports sperm energy production and improves sperm motility and overall quality.
Incorporating these nutrients into your diet, either through food or supplements, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are important steps for men who want to improve their fertility.
Before the sperm test
Before performing the test, it is important that the quantity and quality of sperm are as high as possible. Therefore, refraining from sexual activity for 3 to 7 days before the test has a significant impact on the result.
